Fr. Terence Bateman, OFM Conv. - Parish Priest

Friar Terence was ordained to the priesthood in 1995 for the Archdiocese of Johannesburg in South Africa. He ministered in parishes in Soweto, the inner city, and the suburbs while also teaching at a Catholic high school and the Seminary. In 2007 he went to Belgium to study at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Louvain) where he graduated with a PhD in Systematic Theology and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology. He ministered in West Sussex and London before responding to the call to join the Franciscan Friars Conventual. After formation in England and Ireland he professed solemn vows when he arrived as Parish Priest in St. Anthony of Padua, Liverpool.

Fr. David Young, OFM Conv.

Fr. David was ordained a priest in the church of St Clare, Manchester on July 19th 1959 after studying in Beaumaris and Rome. He exercised his priestly ministry in many parishes including Liverpool (1962-64) Dublin, London and Manchester. He was also called to teach in the seminaries in Beaumaris and Canterbury and a Grammar School in Manchester. For a time he was editor of the Crusader magazine and the Director for the Crusade of Mary Immaculate. Fr. David retired from active ministry, due to ill health, some six years ago and came to live at the friary here in Liverpool.
