Welcome to the parish of St. Anthony of Padua in Mossley Hill, Liverpool.

We are a Franciscan parish served by the Friars Minor Conventual, Catholic men dedicated to living the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi.

We focus on the Gospel life, embraced by Francis, our Seraphic Father and founder. His light has been guiding us for eight centuries.

Please explore our website to get an idea of life in our parish, and use the "I'm New" button to reach out to us if you would like any more information.

Mission Sunday

Next Sunday is Mission Sunday. Leaflets and envelopes for your contribution to the missions will be available in the church. Next week you can return the envelopes in the second collection. Thank you very much for your kindness to the mission work and mission territories of the Church....

Harvest Donations

The schoolchildren will be gathering in the church on this coming Thursday the 17th to celebrate Harvest Festival. We will reflect, pray, and sing to mark this time of the year and give thanks to God for the abundance of good gifts he gives through the bounty of the Earth and the work of farmers. They will present artwork depicting their impression of this season and harvest time. They will also be bringing up as offering for the needy the gifts of the harvest - food. We are asking parishes to do the same for next weekend, Sunday the 20th. To give thanks to God for the bounty of the Earth which feeds and nourishes and strengthens us, we will share with those who have little or nothing, gifts of food. Bring what you can - preferably non-perishable food. These we will place on the sanctuary during the offertory time. The food will go to families whom we look after, and to Mother Theresa's Sisters shelter in town. Thank you very much....

On the mend

Apologies for the scaffolding over the front of the church. We are repairing the roof sections over the front of the church, and especially the dome of the tower which is leaking severely into the tower. We will clean out the interior of the tower and properly depigeon it for the future. Hopefully we will get the bell working as well. The scaffolding will remain up for a while as we clean the exterior of the church with a power spray. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time....
